What Are You Hungry For?
In the reality show, “Alone”, individuals compete…seeing who can survive the longest in a difficult environment. It isn’t long before they record on their cameras some of their favorite foods. It doesn’t seem to help with their hunger and that hunger will drive many of them to “tap out”.
Matthew 5:6 tells us that we will have our fill, but not without first the challenge of hungering and thirsting. What are you hungry for? Remain hungry for righteousness. Jesus tells his followers that their righteousness must exceed the Pharisees*. The righteousness for which we hunger only comes from God.
*Matthew 5:20

TO THINK ABOUT:
1. “You are what you eat!” What could increase our appetite for the righteousness of the Kingdom of God?
2. How can the pursuit of righteousness help us to discern between True and False?
“Blessed are those who hunger & thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:6
